Test Drive Tips
2011-11-16
One of the most important things on the 'To-do List' for buying a car is the 'Test Drive'. There's no getting around that CarFax and tire-kicking are important, but until you physically put yourself in a vehicle, a buying decision should not be made. Every sense you have as a human-being will be stimulated from the second you plant your rear in the seat and grasp the wheel. From that moment onward, your body and mind will be speaking to you. Sight: Instrument panel, mirrors, buttons and controls, radio and climate Touch: Interior textures, steering sensitivity, pedals and gears, seat comfort Smell: clean and non-stinky Hear: Engine clarity, breaks and suspension, electronic windows, sound system, exhaust, road noise Taste: This doesn't apply, unless you're hungry for speed or luxury.....or both When Test Driving, make sure to take note of everything you can. Can you see things properly like the instrument panel and mirrors? Does the seat hold you comfortably and is there enough leg room for your passengers? Is there a funky smell inside the vehicle or even coming from the engine? When accelerating, turning or applying the breaks, do you hear unfamiliar noises? Can you see yourself driving the car or truck on a daily basis? Will your day-to-day lifestyle benefit from your choice? Once the Test Drive begins, don't be afraid to drive. From the 'get-up-and-go' to the 'stop-on-a-dime', its suggested to really Test Drive the vehicle before buying. Again, you should make sure to open all doors, press all buttons and kick all tires, but before you decide to allocate your hard-earned money to a new form of transportation, get in and drive it!- Recent News & Events
